Okonomiyaki, or "Osaka Pankcakes," is a relatively quick and easy meal to throw together, and it is very tasty. Unfortunately I learned to make them by watching and never really wrote a recipe down, so this is my best guess when quantities are concerned. Also, there are a lot of options for ingredients, so add whatever sounds good. Here is a good recipe for the sauce to go with it. --Mark
Ingredients
Shredded cabbage
2 cups flour
1 cup instant potato flakes
1 egg
2 T oil
Water
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Mix cabbage, flour, potato flakes, egg, and oil in a large mixing bowl. Add enough water to make a smooth batter. Add salt and pepper. Combine batter with any additional ingredients you would like. Pour a small amount of batter onto an oiled skillet. Cook until golden brown on each side.
Notes
There are a lot of additional ingredients you can add depending on what you are in the mood for. Here are some suggestions:
-diced onions
-chopped green peppers
-ginger
-leftover meats (like sausage, diced chicken, etc.)
